Srinagar: Bharatiya Janata Party has secured 23 wards of five municipalities of Rajouri district. The municipalities include MC Rajouri, MC Thanamandi, MC Sunderbani, MC Nowshera and MC Kalakote.

Officials said that Congress and independent candidates have won 20 wards each in the five municipalities of the district.

In the 17 wards of Municipal Committee Rajouri BJP won 6 wards while Congress won 7 wards. 4 wards went to independent candidates.

In the 13 wards of MC Thanamandi, BJP didn’t win any ward, while Congress won 9 and 4 went to independent candidates.

In the 13 wards of Sunderbani, BJP won 10 wards while Congress didn’t open its account. Three other wards went to independent candidates.

In the 13 wards of Nowshera, BJP won 7 while Congress and independent candidates won 3 wards each.

In 7 MC wards of Kalakote, BJP couldn’t open its account. While independent candidates won 6 wards and 1 ward went to Congress.
