Hurriyat (G) leader slapped with draconian PSA, shifted to Kotbalwal jail Jammu

Srinagar: Srinagar district magistrate on Thursday slapped draconian public safety act on Hurriyat Conference (G) leader Nisar Hussain Rather who was shifted to Kotbalwal jail in Jammu.

Rather, 70, is chairman of Tehreek-e-Wahdatul Islami, which is a constituent of Syed Ali Geelani led Hurriyat Conference (G).

“Rather was detained by Jammu and Kashmir police on September 21 while he was leading a Moharram procession and was detained in Central Jail Srinagar,” his family said.

They said that Rather was recently released from the central jail and was shifted to sub-jail at Kothi Bagh police station.

“On Tuesday Rather was sent to his concerned police station at Bemina and today morning was slapped with PSA and shifted to Kotbalwal jail in Jammu,” the sources added.
