Residents of Kaloosa Bandipora protest against slapping of PSA on 3 local youth

Srinagar: Scores of residents of Kaloosa village in northern Kashmir’s Bandipora district on Tuesday blocked the Bandipora-Sopore road to demand release of three local youth booked under draconian Public Safety Act (PSA). The protesters included several women.

The blockage of road led to massive traffic jam on the otherwise busy road.

The residents said that the three youth booked under PSA have been framed under frivolous charges and demanded their release.

“The district administration has levelled false and baseless charges against these persons as they were not involved in my kind of anti-government activity and disruption of law and order situation,” the residents said.

The trio includes Sajad Hussain Ganai, Farooq Ahmad Ganai and Bilal Ahmad Ganai – all residents of Ganai Mohalla Kaloosa. The three were booked under PSA on Saturday and shifted to Kotbalwal Jail in Jammu.
