Giridih/Dhanbad: Ultras of the CPI (Maoists) blew up railway track between Chowdharybandh-Changerohalt railway stations on the Dhanbad-Gaya rail section of East Central Railway of Dhanbad division.

In wake of the accident, train traffic movement on the route has been hit with many trains either stranded on different railway stations while few others diverted. Railway sources in Dhanbad said that the bomb blasts were executed around 2245 hrs to 2250 hrs late last night on the tracks and just before the blast the Dhanbad-Firozpur train had crossed the track.

Post the incident, a team of RPF and GRP and railway engineers have rushed to the spot and work was underway to repair the track.

The bomb blast has been executed by the maoists who have called for a two day bandh in several districts of Jharkhand and Bihar following a court order which awarded death punishment to couple of maoists who were held guilty in killing of the then Pakur SP Amarjeet Balihaar.
