Poonch: Conductor of a water tanker was killed and driver injured in a road mishap in Surankote area of Poonch district on Tuesday evening.

Reports reaching  said that the vehicle (water tanker No JKO2AE-9177) attached with Army  on  way to local army battalion Jaranwali Gali in Surankote skidded off the road at Jogi Mohar.

Vehicle’s conductor Nadeem Ahmed (20) son of Dil  Mohd of Jogi  Mohar   died on spot and the driver Mohd Sageer (36) son of  Mohd Sadeeq of Jogi  Mohar got seriously injured, they said.

The Injured driver was immediately taken to Sub-District hospital Surakote where from he was referred to GMC Jammu for specialized treatment, they said.

A police officer also confirmed the incident and said that a case has been registered and further investigations has been initiated. (GNS)
