After 8.3% turnout in Kashmir, BJP says voting percentage ‘victory of democracy’

Srinagar: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday said that people of Jammu and Kashmir have rejected National Conference (NC) and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) by exercising their franchise on Monday.

BJP State General Secretary (organization), Ashok Koul while talking to a news gathering agency said the people who came out and cast the ballots on Monday have rejected the two regional parties, who had announced boycott to the elections that commenced today.

He said that the BJP will encourage the workers who supported the party, saying that the workers strengthened the party at the grass-root level. “The concerns of BJP workers will be looked into,” he said.

Koul also said that the polling percentage today was victory of democracy.
