Sharda University Incident: JK Governor speaks to UP Chief Minister

Srinagar: J&K Governor Satya Pal Malik spoke to UP Chief Minister, Adityanath regarding the manhandling of a Kashmiri student at Sharda University Campus in Greater Noida area.

Governor sought the intervention of the UP Chief Minister to ensure that the Kashmiri students are provided a safe and secure environment in the educational institutions of the State.

UP Chief Minister informed the Governor that strict disciplinary action would be taken on the Sharda University incident. He told the Governor that the UP Government has already ordered an inquiry into the incident and assured that all measures would be taken to ensure safety of Kashmiri students so that they can continue their studies in a safe environment.

 

Pertinent to mention that Police has booked over 350 students for rioting and related offences at Sharda University in Greater Noida after a Kashmiri student was beaten up at the varsity campus on Thursday.
