ULB polls: Independent candidates demand security, say ‘we feel insecure’

Srinagar: The independent candidates who have filed nomination papers and are contesting the upcoming Urban Local Body and Panchayat polls in Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday demanded adequate security till the elections is over.

“We feel insecure and therefore ask the authorities to provide us adequate security so that our lives are safeguarded,” they said.

They said that they are not getting any response from the government.

Addressing a presser conference in Srinagar, the candidates also alleged the BJP of hijacking all the “poll process”.
