Srinagar: Two militants have been killed in the gunfight between government forces and militants in Tujjer area of Sopore town in Baramulla district on Tuesday.

Reports said that after a lull in the exchange of fire, the gunfire started again and in the fierce exchange all the militants have been killed.

The identification of the militants is being ascertained.

The gunfight broke out during the intervening night of Monday and Tuesday after the government forces cordoned the area following a specific input about the presence of militants in the area.

The authorities have already snapped the mobile internet services in Sopore and adjoining areas and also ordered the closure of all the educational institutes.
