BJP pledges corruption, terror free India by 2022: 'Let Lotus bloom', says Rajnath

New Delhi:  The BJP National Executive on Sunday adopted a political resolution that pledges to ensure a ‘terror free, poverty free and corruption free’ India by the year 2022.

The resolution moved by Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh and seconded among others by Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “adbhoot netrita (unique and inspiring leadership)” in creating a roadmap for New India.

Moving the resolution amid thumping of desks and applause by party leaders, Rajnath Singh said:

“chalo kamal khilae (Come, let us make Lotus bloom across India)”.

Briefing reporters, Union Minister Prakash Javadekar said there is a “general approval from the society” for an era of good governance unleashed by the Modi government.

The resolution exuded confidence that the party will win the 2019 elections with bigger margin.

“The resolution pledges for a corruption free, poverty free, casteism free, communalism free and terror free India by the year 2022,” the party said.

“A unique feature of last four-and-a-half years is that the common people have empowered and there is also a culture of innovation and people are coming forward in doing new things,” Mr Javadekar said.

The resolution referred to various developmental and welfare measures undertaken by the government.

“There will be over draft benefits for the account holders of Jan Dhan Yozana,” he said.
