Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir police on Friday arrested four civilian protesters during clashes after congregational prayers in Jamia Masjid area of Nowhatta.
Witnesses said that policeman in civvies, putting on a face mask and holding a pistol arrested the youth from Jamia Masjid compound.
The policeman had apparently faked his presence as a protester and later was able to lay hands on four of the protesters.
A senior police official confirmed the arrest of four youths and said that they were involved in stone pelting.
