Cluster University students protest, demand postponement of 3rd semester examinations

Srinagar: The Post Graduate students of Cluster University of Kashmir on Thursday demanded postponement of 3rd semester examinations.

Holding a protest demonstration in Srinagar, scores of students of the varsity raising slogans said that the university administration has issued the semester examinations date sheet while “we have completed only 20 percent of syllabus yet”.

The protesting students of various departments including Zoology, Botany, Chemistry, Physics and environmental science said: “Our 3rd semester classes started just 2 months ago and we have only completed 20 percent of the syllabus yet.”

“How can we appear in the examinations,” they questioned?

One of the protesting students told The Kashmir Press: “The duration of our semester is 6 months routinely, however, without keeping that in consideration, the university authorities are pushing us to appear in the examinations after three months.”

The protesting students demanded that university should defer the examinations till November 15.
