Srinagar: Several houses and vehicles were damaged due to flash floods and mudslide, triggered by incessant rains in Leh in Ladakh region.
Official sources on Thursday said that incessant rains in Leh during last night, triggered flash floods and mudslide in villages Saboo and Shey in Leh. “The flash floods and mudslide washed away two light vehicles, two motorcycles and also resulting in damage to some houses in the area,” they said.
Meanwhile, State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) rescue team along with other rescue teams from Police and ITBP managed to save the lives of people and cattle of the area. “Four foreign tourists were also evacuated to the safer place,” they said.
They said the flood and mudslides damaged the houses, vehicles and standing crops in the area. However, they said there was no report of any loss of life.
