Mentally challenged person injured four in Pattan, hospitalised

Four persons were injured after a mentally challenged person attacked a group of people in north Kashmir’s Pattan area Baramulla district.

Abdul Majeed Dar, a mentally challenged man attacked a group of people with a sharp knife in Chek Jameel Meer village of Pattan on Sunday evening.

The injured were identified as Ali Mohammad Dar, Nazir Ahmad Dar, Abdul Khaliq Dar and Farooq Ahmad.  Farooq and Khaliq were seriously injured in the attack and were shifted to Srinagar hospital for specialised treatment.

The injured are all family members.

Meanwhile, Police has registered a case and launched an investigation, said an official.
