Jammu: One person was washed away while another was rescued when heavy rains triggered flash floods on upper reaches in Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir.

“Two people were washed away in the Chhatrari Nallah on Wednesday evening on Ramnagar-Basantgarh road,” police here said.

They said that a person, identified as Suram Chand, resident of Chhatrari, Tehsil Basantgarh died while another person rescued.
