Jammu: A fresh batch of 1,282 pilgrims on Tuesday left from Bhagwati Nagar base camp here for Amarnath cave shrine in a convoy of 44 vehicles.

The pilgrims left from here to perform pilgrimage from both Baltal and Pahalgam routes, an official here said.

He said that the pilgrims comprised of 922 male, 266 females, 87 sadhus and seven Sadhvis left in 24 buses and 20 Light Motor Vehicles.

Till date 74,962 vehicles have left the base camp from here to the cave shrine. (UNI)
