Srinagar: Government forces on Sunday launched search operation in Lolab Valley of Kupwara district after militants attacked an army patrolling party in wee hours.

Militants opened fire upon a patrol of army’s 28 RR in Khumrial forest area of Lolab of the border district, police sources said.

Following the ambush, he said, the army and police have started a combing operation in the forests.
