Srinagar: Those planning for Amarnath Yatra should reconsider their travel plans, Founder of Art of Living Foundation Sri Sri Ravi Shankar and member of Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB) said while advising pilgrims to postpone their pilgrimage to next year.

“Pilgrims who have reached already are facing extreme difficulties and it is advised that those planning for Shri Amarnath Yatra reconsider their travel plans and invoke Bholenath through meditation and prayer from where they are,” said Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, according to spokesman of Art of Living.

Shankar referred to ‘recent tragedies, inclement weather’ and advised pilgrims to postpone their Amarnath Yatra to next year.

“Heavy rains and landslides have disrupted both the routes to the holy cave and have thus posed serious challenges for the Yatris.”

“Despite the best efforts of the chairman of the Amarnath Shrine Board Governor N N Vohra, the army, and the Border Security Forces, it is unlikely that the roads will become suitable for travel in the near future,” he said, according to spokesman of Art of Living.
