Srinagar: A youth got injured after hit with bullets during clashes that broke out between protesters and government forces near the encounter spot in Kundalan village here.

Scores of locals took to the streets in Kundalan and staged protest after a joint team of army, Special Operations Group (SOG) of police and CRPF cornered militants and engaged them in a fire fight, witnesses told Kashmir Reader.

The government forces, they said, burst tear smoke shells to disperse the angry protesters.

“The protesters pelted rocks at the government forces sparking off clashes. Many people were injured in the clashes,” sources said.

Officials from hospital said that he youth has been referred to Srinagar hospital for treatment.
