Tarigami says no question of supporting any party

Srinagar:  Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has termed the reports of government formation as mere rumors and sought an early election in the state.

Senior PDP leader and former minister Naeem Akhtar has said that his party does not respond to rumors regarding government formation.

He said from the day one when the government collapsed in the state, the PDP has demanded an early elections.

Asked that the PDP was facing internal bickering , Akhtar said, “the only thing I am saying we don’t respond to rumors.

The news was rife in political and social circles of the state that the PDP with the support from congress was trying to form a multi-group coalition government.

Senior Congress functionaries including former chief minister and opposition leader in Rajya Sabha Ghulam Nabi Azad had already rebutted reports of government formation.

Azad said that Congress would not ally with the PDP and the speculations regarding their alliance were  baseless.

Meanwhile, CPI (M) senior leader and MLA Kulgam, Muhammad Yousuf Tarigami also ruled out any support to form the next dispensation in Jammu and Kashmir.

The unverified reports have earlier suggested that the PDP and congress was in deliberations with some MLAs from other parties including CPI (M) PDF.

However, Tarigami refuted the reports and said that there was no question of supporting any formation.

“No question of extending support to any formation trying to form the government in the state as of now,” Tarigami tweeted.
