JKLF chief Yasin Malik leads protest against civilian killing

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) chief Yasin Malik on Saturday led a protest against the killing of a boy in forces’ action in Pulwama district yesterday.

The protest was called by the Joint Resistance Leadership comprising of Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umer Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik.

Scores of workers of various outfits led by Malik staged a protest at Nowhatta against the civilian killings, including the yesterday’s killing of a boy Faizan Ahmad in Pulwama.

The protesters were carrying banners on which messages seeking an end to killings were written.

Faizan was shot dead by the forces during clashes near the site of a gunfight in Chatpora area of Pulwama yesterday. A Lashkar-e-Toiba militant was killed in the gunfight while two other managed to escape from the cordon.
