Ten injured in clashes near gunfight in Pulwama village

Srinagar:At least ten people were injured on Friday after protests between government forces and youth erupted near the site of encounter at Chatapora area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.

Sources said right after the news of encounter spread in the area, youth tried to disrupt the operations by pelting stones on government forces, the government forces reiterated by resorting to tear gas shelling and pellet firing.

In the ensuing clashes reports said that  as many as ten youth got injured who were referred to the sub district hospital pulwama, one among the injured was referred to Srinagar.

Earlier protesters pelted government forces with rocks and tried to disrupt their operation against the holed up militants in Pulwama.

A gunfight between militants and government forces broke out in Chatepora area of the town. At least four militants are reportedly trapped in the encounter.
