Srinagar: The Director General of Police SP Vaid on Sunday said that one of the three militants trapped at Cheddharban Kulgam has surrendered along with arms and ammunition.
‘Third terrorist surrenders with arms/ammunition to Police/SF” Vaid wrote on his twitter handle.
Earlier it was reported that three militants were trapped and that two of them had been killed by government forces.
Reports said that a joint team of Army, SOG and CRPF had launched cordon at Cheddarbhan area of Qaimoh this afternoon.
Soon after the cordon was laid, there was exchange of fire between the government forces and trapped militants in which two militants were killed.
The identity of militants is yet to be ascertained.
