BJP leader Lal Singh’s threat to Kashmiri journalists: NC condemns, seeks police action

Srinagar: National Conference on Saturday while condemning the “outrageous remarks” and “threatening” of Kashmir journalists by the BJP leader and MLA Choudhary Lal Singh, asked the police to take action.

In a tweet National Conference spokesperson said “National Conference strongly condemns the outrageous remarks and threatening of Kashmiri journalists by BJP Leader and MLA Chaudhry Lal Singh. This merits immediate cognisance by the @JmuKmrPolice. We hope the law isn’t subverted”.

The party vice president Omar Abdullah said the killing of Rising Kashmir chief editor Shujaat Bukhari was now being used as a tool to threaten journalists.

“Dear journalists, your colleagues in Kashmir just got threatened by a @BJP4India MLA. It seems Shujaat’s death is now a tool for goons to use to threaten other journalists,” he said on Twitter.

Earlier Singh while addressing a press conference in Jammu yesterday warned Kashmir journalists of “Shujaat-like incident” for what he said creating “wrong narrative regarding the Kathua rape-and-murder case.”
