ATM guard allegedly thrashed by army in Shopian

Srinagar: Army on Wednesday night allegedly thrashed an ATM guard of Jammu and Kashmir bank posted at Kundalan village in Shopian.

Sources said that an ATM guard identified as Hilal Ahmad Parrey, 26, son of  Abdul Qayoom, a resident of  Kundalan Shopian was thrashed by the army during night hours when he was performing his professional duties.

“He was later admitted in District Hospital Shopian with the marks of beating, bruises,” sources said.

“An army patrolling party beat him ruthlessly while he was performing his duties during the intervening night of Wednesday and Thursday without any reason,” sources said quoting him.

However, army officials could not be contacted despite repeated calls and texts from The Kashmir Press.
