Srinagar: Chairperson, Jammu Kashmir State Commission for Women, Nayeema Ahmad Mahjoor resigned from her post on Wednesday.
Nayeema sent her resignation to Governor NN Vohra and chief secretary early today.
Nayeema while confirming her resignation tweeted “I have resigned from the post of chairperson, JK state commission for women’s early morning. I am now free woman…freedom at last….”.
The development came a day after BJP pulled out of the coalition with PDP and paved way for the governor’s rule.
Nayeema was a journalist before she joined People’s Democratic Party (PDP) after she was appointed as chairperson of the Commission.
