Two Militants, army trooper killed in Bandipora

Srinagar :Two Militants and an army soldier belonging to 14 Rashtriya Rifles has been killed in an ongoing encounter between militants and army at Panar forest area of Bandipora in North Kashmir, reports said

The operation has been going on from June 9 following input about presence of a group of militants.

The injured army soldier was injured and was airlifted to hospital in the night, however he succumbed to his injury on way to the hospital.

During the past six days, government forces and militants have exchanged fire on at least six occasions. But each time the militants managed to give  a slip in the forest area.

The first contact with the militants was established on Saturday evening when a patrol party of the Army was fired upon by the militants. This was retaliated and the exchange of fire lasted for a brief time.
