The National Assembly of Pakistan on Thursday passed a constitutional bill seeking the much-awaited merger of the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (Fata) with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) with a 229-1 majority vote. Dawn reported
Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazal (JUIF) and Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PkMAP) members staged a walkout from the assembly when the voting started.
A session of the Senate has been called on Friday (tomorrow) to review the bill and give its assent to its passage.
