Two persons involved in supplying illegal weapons in Delhi and NCR region along with 21 sophisticated pistols and 42 magazines were nabbed by the special Cell of Delhi police, the police said on Wednesday.
Following a tip-off that the two will deliver a large consignment of weapons to local criminals of Delhi and NCR, a special cell team apprehended Vineet and Ramu near the Salimgarh flyover adjoining Rajghat around 1700 hours on Monday.
Police recovered 10 sophisticated pistols with 10 spare magazines from Vineet and 11 sophisticated pistols with 11 spare magazines from Ramu.
A case under Arms Act has been registered at PS Special Cell, Delhi, the police said.
Both the accused are residents of Taleshra village, PS Gonda, Tehsil Iglash, in Aligarh district of Uttar Pradesh.
During interrogation Vineet revealed that he was also arrested earlier in two cases of attempt to murder in Bharatpur, Rajasthan and Aligarh, UP.
Ramu was also involved with Vineet in attempt to murder case and in 2013, he was arrested in another case of attempt to murder in Police Station Pahasu, Bulandshahar (UP) and also arrested in an Arms Act case. (UNI)
