An army man shot dead himself with his service rifle in Kunzar area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Thursday.

Sources said that the soldier posted at of 2 RR, Kunzar, shot himself while on duty in the wee hours on Thursday.

Following the gunshot, the colleagues rushed towards the spot and found him in a pool of blood.

Sources quoting army men said that the army man was taken to nearby military hospital where he was declared brought dead.

A case has been registered at police station Kunzer and further investigations has been started.
