Due to the continues rains and the thunder storm in several India sates, the Indian Meteorological Department have ordered to close down the schools while rains lashed in Chandigarh, Business Standard reported.
The IMD-authorities in Haryana and Punjab have issued high alert following the storm in several states of India.
The home ministry has earlier said that at least 13 states would be affected hence they had issued the advisory of closing down of schools.
The storm so far has claimed at least 124 lives and injuring more than 300. Out of which 73 were killed in Uttar Pradesh, following by the 35 deaths in Rajasthan.
Chandigarh and its surrounding areas also witnessed early morning rains on Monday. Meanwhile, the city authorities are on a high alert following the storm warning issued by the met department.
