The missing Kashmir University professor Mohammad Rafi Bhat was killed in Bandigam area of South Kashmir’s Shopian district in an encounter with government forces.

Rafi was missing since Friday. His missing had triggered massive clashes at university yesterday.

Sources said that police had earlier called his family to persuade him to surrender. But he denied families call to surrender and died while fighting government forces.
