Afghan Journalists boycott world press freedom day ceremony

The Afghan Journalist boycotted an official ceremony to mark World Press Freedom day in Kabul.

According to the reports, the journalist boycotted the event since they accused the goverenment of not doing enough to ensure the safety of media workers in the country.

They demonstrated with placards that read “Stop deceiving — Journalists are not something to play with”, Efe news reported.

On Monday, three attacks in Afghanistan killed over 40 people, including 10 journalists, in one of the deadliest strikes on the country’s media since the fall of the Taliban in 2001.
